Our New PS4

So essentially today’s post is about the new Playstation 4 that I recently received in the post, courtesy of Sony. It is absolutely fantastic I have to say, the packaging was outstanding – despite it taking me far too long to get out of the box, it certainly is a true front runner in the battle of gaming machines, whether you’re looking at purchasing a console, computer or even a hand held device too. It has currently shipped over 50 million separate devices and so is currently the most popular gaming console that is currently in production. In actual fact, it is also one of the most popular gaming devices of all time, only surpassed by a selection of hand held devices and the old nintendo consoles of the past. In an apt comparison, the Xbox one has sold only half as many units as Sony and Microsoft have recently announced that they are already seeking to upgrade their console to try and match the Playstation 4’s superior hardware specifications. We can pretty much call this war over, because Microsoft has actually recently stopped reporting to the media how many units it has sold, they have therefore essentially omitted defeat and this trend is likely to continue well into 2016 as well.

Playstation 4
We here at the Eagles Hotel in Wales are keen Playstation 4 gamers and we actually provide people who visit us with a jailbroken PS4 in each of the rooms in our lovely countryside set hotel. We learnt how to jealbreak a ps4 a while ago and ever since then we have been promotion the use of them repeatedly. We personally got hooked on the latest console way back at E3 in 2015, but ever since then we’ve found it exceptionally hard to put it away. Throughout 2016 we are hoping that Sony delivers even further and with the release of all of the virtual reality headsets so far, we think it will be a truly excellent year for video game enthusiasts like ourselves. We think that the current state of affairs is that it is worrying because Sony may soon run away with the race and the last thing any gamer wants is a monopoly with only one company vying to produce the best pieces of hardware – as the old saying goes, competition is healthy.
In terms of virtual reality compatability, neither console is currently compatible with the two headsets that are out at the moment; the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift – however Playstation has truly worked hard to produce one of their own and we expect it to be just as good as the two that are out already. At least, I really do hope so or us console dwellers might be waiting some time before we can jump on the Virtual Reality bandwagon.
